St Giles’ Church Copmanthorpe - Family Worker

St Giles’ is the parish church of the village of Copmanthorpe on the outskirts of York. Our mission is to reach all our community with the love of God which is in line with the Diocesan vision for growth. We are seeking to reach out with the Gospel to the many families in our community. We have a well-established parent and toddler group and recently developed a group for children during our new family-friendly contemporary worship event on Sunday mornings. We also have links with our local community school and a group goes in to school regularly to lead collective worship.

We are seeking a dedicated, inspiring and committed disciple of Christ to help us reach out to the families in our community and beyond, whom we currently do not reach. We see a significant opportunity to grow the Church by addressing key aspects of our mission by appointing a Family Worker.

The successful candidate will help spread the good news of Jesus in the village, by serving the community and stimulating Christian faith, worship and discipleship in new and creative ways, amongst young families. The Family Worker will work closely with the Vicar, the PCC and congregations and will be encouraged to start new initiatives as well as building on existing opportunities.

The post is 10 hours per week, to include two hours Sunday morning and may include Saturday and evenings (£10.30 per hour).
